John Henry Splittorf, 80, of Catawba, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in the presence of his daughter and niece. Raised in Mantua, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur and Henrietta Montjoy Splittorf. John honorably served his country through his time in the United States Army Security Agency. He was known best for his heart of gold and desire to do for others. His family, “his girls” were most important in his world. He found joy in the little things in life from fishing to tinkering in the garage. John was a jack of all trades - aways finding something to fix or make better with his hands.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Jacki Splittorf; adoring granddaughter, Charli Sullins; niece, Julie Splittorf; and many loving friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Kay Splittorf; step-daughter, Chrissy (Smith) Eddinger; grandson, Harlan Sullins; brother, James Splittorf; and his wife of nearly 40 years, Sheila Phifer Splittorf.
The family would like to express their tremendous gratitude to the staff and nurses at Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill for their unwavering care and support.
A private Celebration of Life for John will be held at a later date.
